I’m finally rounding up my Osaka trip with the last post: Concert day! Yes, the boys are both in the army now, but no, I haven’t stopped being a fan. But at least, my wallet can take a break now. 😛
Unfortunately, the posts on the rest of my Osaka trip are in my previous blog, which is now closed to public. So, a brief recap. 4 of us sg TVXQ fangirls went to Osaka to attend their WITH concert. Before concert day, we toured the Osaka Castle, Shinsekai, Shinsaibashi etc and ate and shopped.
Finally it’s the the day! Can you see how excited we were?
Heading towards Kyocera Dome to look for our friends.
Ruth and Serene got up in the wee hours of the morning to join the queue for merchandise. Love you girls! Can you spot them in the queue?
I forgot who else came to take over the post but us 4 left for some serious camwhoring. Maybe it’s Nuy from Indonesia. Yes, we met up fellow fangirls from Indonesia, China, Hongkong, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hawaii etc that day. Amazing right? We were even approached by another group of Singaporeans who identified us through the social media. It’s kind of cool how everybody knows everybody in the fandom.
I was so chubby just less than one year ago. Haha.
Serene said the 2000yen note I had is very very rare, and advised me not to use it. But I was really poor. Just had to use it. Haha.
More pictures with international fans.
The very efficient and fuss-free merchandise buying experience. Except that to ensure you get the goods you want, you typically have to queue for hours in the cold or sun. But queuing is made more fun because you get to meet fellow friends and meet the who’s-who in the fandom.
Merchandise buying done! Go take more pictures!
Aren’t they just gorgeous? So gorgeous I could not resist hugging the pillar. Ha.
Went for lunch and shopping at the 5-storey Tokyu Hands.
Oh man, I shopped till I felt that my toes were bleeding. Too bad I was very short on yen and could not buy much. Still bought some nice souvenirs for hubby and kids. And oh, my fangirl haul:
A few of them are gifts from fellow fan friends. And erm, I think the picture doesn’t show all the loot. Haha. I must mention that the fan friends are all very generous people and very big on gift-giving. Which made me quite stressed because I don’t have a habit of buying gifts for people. Ha. So I received piles of cute TVXQ-related trinkets over there. Honestly, I felt so much love.
A few could not make it to the meeting place for the group photo before concert because it was pouring. And there were around 35,000 people there trying to get into the dome. Taking the subway to the dome was an experience in itself. It’s like the whole of Osaka was getting to the same station.
Every seat had this led light wristband. It is remotely controlled and could change colours to go with different songs. So darn cool!
I didn’t dare smuggle in a camera this time, after nearly being caught at Tokyo Dome the last time. Only used my phone to take a couple of shots of the red ocean. Honestly, The concert happened so long ago I can hardly write a proper fan account. But I will attempt to, at my fangirl blog. Let me just say it was THE BEST CONCERT EVER! Everything was so on point.
After concert supper:
At the airport the next morning. Oh man, Audrey and I spazzed and bitched the whole way home to SG. You have no idea how fun that was.
Some pictures I took with my handphone.
Our tiny airBnB room. Good enough. Oh Serene stayed with her hubby in another room. Ruth, by herself. All in the same apartment block.
Our tickets! *screams*
Our accomodation was near Suidobashi. The iconic Glico man! :p
Where we at dinner the first night. At almost midnite.
My bag and hand. Decorated. Haha.
Breathtaking peach, cherry and plum blossoms. I have forgotten which is which.
Thinking back, I cannot believe how crazy I was. To fly all the way to see the boys. But it was also nice break away from the kids to bond with friends and see a new country. If it’s not for TVXQ, I wouldn’t have had the chance to visit Japan. 🙂
